The Clemson Family Dentistry Team
Dr. John G. McRoberts, DMD, PA
Dr. John McRoberts joined Clemson Family Dentistry in July of 2000.  As a local, he graduated from Seneca High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Kelly.  He attained a Bachelor Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, graduating Summa Cum Laude from The College of Charleston.  He then attained a Doctor of Dental Medicine from The Medical University of South Carolina.  Upon graduation, he was anxious to return to his “Roots” in the Upstate South Carolina, where he has been practicing for many years

Dr. McRoberts enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly and their children, AJ and Peyton.  They have enjoyed spending time on the lakes in the area and traveling around the country- Dr. Mac is trying to see a MLB game at each of the stadiums with his son (less than 10 to go!).   He is active in his church, just rotating off a deacon rotation.  He has been serving on the finance committee, youth committee, and serves as one of the middle school teachers on Sundays.  He and his wife love the South Carolina State Dance- the shag, and enjoy cutting the rug as a member in the Oconee Assembly.

Dr. McRoberts is a big supporter of youth activities in our area.  As a magic enthusiast, he gives many “A little magic, a little teeth” lectures to preschools and elementary schools around the areas.  Feel free to contact the office to schedule one for your school.  He has supported local YMCA teams, local Rec team sports, Blue Ridge Golf programs, Middle and High School teams from surrounding schools, knowing that these participants are tomorrow’s leaders.  He also enjoys supporting Collins Family Ministries and the Boy Scouts (Dr. Mac is an Eagle Scout!)

Dr. McRoberts is a huge Clemson supporter and attends many of the different sporting events with his family and friends.  You will always see him wearing orange on Thursdays at the office to show his Tiger Pride.  He has been the official Clemson Tiger Dentist for the last several years, helping out with students, trainers, coaches, etc. when the need arises.  He also works very close to the Biology and Health Science Depts., bringing students in on a regular basis for shadowing opportunities  He is a Preceptor for Interns in the Health Science Department and one of the teachers in the Predental Class of the Biology curriculum.

Professionally, he has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Oral Medicine, the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and Tri-County Dental Society where he has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President.  He has been on the advisory board of the dental assisting program at Tri County Technical College for the last dozen years.  He and his team stay above and beyond that which is required for continuing education in order to provide their patients with the most up-to-date care in general dentistry.  Dr. McRoberts looks forward to working with you to achieve the smile and oral health you desire in the most friendly and conservative way possible.  By the way, he loves a good joke when you’re visiting.
Dr. Eric Rackley, DMD
Dr. Eric Rackley is a 2013 graduate of the Clemson University Calhoun Honors College, finishing Summa Cum Laude in Biological Sciences. While at Clemson, Eric was involved in Student Alumni Council, Blue Key Honor Society and Tiger Brotherhood Honor Fraternity. He served as the President of his social fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and he was a member of the Student Government. Eric also enjoyed his involvement with the student ministries Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Greek InterVarsity.
Eric completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2017. Upon graduation, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society that distinguishes students in the top of their class. He was involved in many different capacities at MUSC: working as a tutor for Gross Anatomy, serving as coordinator for the university intramural sports program, and representing his dental school class in the Mr. MUSC talent show. He was also very passionate about his work with a ministry called Dental Community Fellowship (DCF), where he served as President. Through this organization, Eric had the opportunity to participate in five dental missions trips during his time as a student. Eric is eager to continue following his passion for serving others through dental missions and volunteering in local free clinics.

During his first year of dental school, Eric met his wife, Chandler, a native of Summerville, South Carolina, and the two were married in August of 2016. Chandler is currently working in the Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship with the Greenville Hospital System, while she finishes her coursework to garner her Masters in Public Health from MUSC. She plans to further her education, training to be a Physician's Assistant at North Greenville University. With little convincing, Eric and Chandler moved from the low country to God's country, and the two are loving life in the upstate. They enjoy cheering on the Tigers, hiking, biking, and trying new cuisine. They attend Grace church where they volunteer with ministry to elementary school students.

Dr. Rackley is determined to provide exceptional quality care with compassion and open communication. He believes that when you are a patient of Clemson Family Dentistry, you are a part of the family, and you deserve to be treated that way.

Dr. Rackley is committed to continually refining his craft. He has trained at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, and he is constantly learning through continuing education and study groups.

Eric is not the first Rackley family member to be dentally inclined. His father is a dentist; his mother is a dental hygienist; and his great grandfather was a dentist (he graduated from dental school exactly 100 years prior to Eric). When Eric finally decided he wanted to join this great profession, he spent hundreds of hours shadowing Dr. John McRoberts and Dr. William "Gus" Gustafson at Clemson Family Dentistry. Eric is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue his personal family's legacy as well as the legacy of Clemson Family Dentistry.
