Dr. Eric Rackley is a 2013 graduate of the Clemson University Calhoun Honors College, finishing Summa Cum Laude in Biological Sciences. While at Clemson, Eric was involved in Student Alumni Council, Blue Key Honor Society and Tiger Brotherhood Honor Fraternity. He served as the President of his social fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and he was a member of the Student Government. Eric also enjoyed his involvement with the student ministries Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Greek InterVarsity.
Eric completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2017. Upon graduation, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society that distinguishes students in the top of their class. He was involved in many different capacities at MUSC: working as a tutor for Gross Anatomy, serving as coordinator for the university intramural sports program, and representing his dental school class in the Mr. MUSC talent show. He was also very passionate about his work with a ministry called Dental Community Fellowship (DCF), where he served as President. Through this organization, Eric had the opportunity to participate in five dental missions trips during his time as a student. Eric is eager to continue following his passion for serving others through dental missions and volunteering in local free clinics.
During his first year of dental school, Eric met his wife, Chandler, a native of Summerville, South Carolina, and the two were married in August of 2016. Chandler is currently working in the Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship with the Greenville Hospital System, while she finishes her coursework to garner her Masters in Public Health from MUSC. She plans to further her education, training to be a Physician's Assistant at North Greenville University. With little convincing, Eric and Chandler moved from the low country to God's country, and the two are loving life in the upstate. They enjoy cheering on the Tigers, hiking, biking, and trying new cuisine. They attend Grace church where they volunteer with ministry to elementary school students.
Dr. Rackley is determined to provide exceptional quality care with compassion and open communication. He believes that when you are a patient of Clemson Family Dentistry, you are a part of the family, and you deserve to be treated that way.
Dr. Rackley is committed to continually refining his craft. He has trained at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, and he is constantly learning through continuing education and study groups.
Eric is not the first Rackley family member to be dentally inclined. His father is a dentist; his mother is a dental hygienist; and his great grandfather was a dentist (he graduated from dental school exactly 100 years prior to Eric). When Eric finally decided he wanted to join this great profession, he spent hundreds of hours shadowing Dr. John McRoberts and Dr. William "Gus" Gustafson at Clemson Family Dentistry. Eric is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue his personal family's legacy as well as the legacy of Clemson Family Dentistry.
